Why Intel continues to be clueless about the markets?

Why and How Intel continues to be clueless about the markets?

This post gives Intel’s side of the story. And this statement succinctly captures the thinking inside Intel.

Even in bad times, good performance doesn’t seem to go unpunished. While a few companies in the tech industry seem to be enjoying celebrity status, most seem stuck in the mud, despite beating revenue, profit and even margin expectations.

This statement shows how Intel continues to be clueless about the markets and what people are looking for.

It is not about milking the same cow (PC market) that Intel has been doing for the last two decades. The markets are looking to see if Intel can add some new cows. And customers are looking to see if Intel can deliver new experiences. Following others (Apple) and spending enormous resources to copy others is not what makes a leader.

Can Intel show true innovation and be a leader again?
