Apple iPad 3 with 2048x1536 Display

There are multiple pointers indicating the upcoming Apple iPad 3 with 2048x1536 display.

Apple’s upcoming iPad 3 will feature an improved display to support quad extended graphics (QXGA), a display resolution of 2048×1536 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio to provide full high definition (HD) viewing experience.

Samsung and LG are said to be the two suppliers for the 2048x1536 display.

Samsung, an Apple vendor, demo’ed a 2560x1600 display in May 2011.

Motorola, a competitor, is also said to be working on launching a 2048x1536 Xoom tablet running Android 4.0 and using Nvidia’s quad-core Kal-El cpu. (via BGR)

After a similar rumor in January about iPad 2 having a 2048x1536 display did not pan out, this time the pointers seem solid that the new iPad will indeed have a 2048x1536 display. The only question whether the iPad 3 launches in September 2011 or March 2012.
