Facebook’s Problem with Fraudulent Credit Card Charges: Visa, MasterCard

Facebook’s problem with fraudulent credit card charges: Visa, MasterCard.

It is a surprise that there is not much discussion of this issue. Facebook seems to have a big problem with fraudulent credit card charges.

Visa, Mastercard and other card issuers actively flag all charges made by Facebook.com whether it is Facebook’s $1.01 charge or $100. The charges are declined, reported as “fraudulent activity” to cardholders. The blocking of charges and fraud reporting can at a minimum slow down Facebook’s cashflow, or at worst it can impact Facebook’s revenues and profits.

This cannot be good for Facebook or Facebook’s customers. Facebook needs to clean up this issue soon to maintain a good experience on its site.
